GROWING UP IS HARD.

GROWING UP IN A CULTURE WHERE YOUR VOICE IS IGNORED IS HARDER.

Nobody would ever want to be 14 again, right? The questions, the awkwardness, the emotions, those hard-won milestones. Now imagine that when it came time to ask all those burning questions you had about your strange new world, you’d have been met with a wall of cultural silence. For girls-becoming-women in the developing world, this is what growing up can be.

After a collaboration between Girl Effect, Percolate Galactic, and London’s DesignStudio, GEM was recently rebranded as Springster.

The platform is undergoing a massive global relaunch and brand activation, all of which has been coordinated by Percolate Galactic as Girl Effect’s global creative agency of record.

In addition, Percolate Galactic manages all of Girl Effect’s work in Indonesia, including the Springster platform and the creation of a web series created by-and-for Indonesian girls.

Percolate Galactic’s work for the The Girl Effect ( a social campaign created by the Nike Foundation) was to create a sounding board and resource for all of those questions. Creating diverse multi-media content addressing some of growing-up’s biggest questions, we worked to cover subjects both afternoon threatening (feuding best friends!) to life threatening (domestic violence, pregnancy, and STD prevention).

Working with Facebook’s Internet.org, we created an open, online culture of education, empowerment, and community amongst Indonesia’s socially-wired legions of 12-18 year old girls. And with the help of Indonesia’s telecom industry, the experience involved no data plan charges, ensuring free access to the information for anyone with a handphone.

The content created for Girl Effect Mobile in Indonesia. is now being localized and adapted into countries across Asia and Africa.

For just one segment of our contract with Girl Effect, we delivered:
